Considering Botox: What You Need to Know

All medical procedures entail a calculated risk, and for most of us, we can face elective or non-elective surgery with few worries. Botox treatment is extremely popular and countless individuals have successfully used this process to enhance their appearance. For anyone considering using Botox as a treatment for wrinkles or a cosmetic facial, considering about potential injection risks, Botox risks, side effects and possible complications is vital. Though the vast majority of patients have successful results, the unwanted side-effects of Botox procedures can be permanent, dangerous and troublesome.

What are the Botox Risks and Possible Complications?

There are very few Botox risks and possible complications that are considered as being able to occur, however these are all just as important to concern yourself with. It is also important to know that just because maybe a friend or family member had a cosmetic facial done and it went fine, this without a doubt does not mean that it will go this way for you.

In regards to the most common Botox risks, that would include for instance the fact that if Botox is injected too close to your upper eyelids, then there is the risk that temporary upper eyelid droop may result; this is something which can in fact take months to improve, which is obviously a serious consideration.

Then there is also the risk of allergic reaction, which again is quite small but still must be taken into consideration. As well, if you are pregnant or nursing, there are certain injection risks that are exceedingly important, and so if you are looking to have any sort of Botox procedure done, then it would be most wise to wait until after your baby is born and until they are no longer nursing.

If you are not informed of the possible risks and complications, and/or if you simply want to learn more about them or see if you are any more at risk for any of them, then make sure to discuss these with your physician because they can help you to find out if you are a good candidate for this type of wrinkles care. Also remember during this consultation with your doctor that you should also make sure to ask any other questions that you may have, as well as determine your present health in order to make sure that you are physically able to withstand such a procedure.

After all of this, you should be prepared if still interested to go through with the procedure, whichever one you may have chosen, and you will know at this point how worth it the effort and time was in regards to learning about Botox risks, injection risks and informing yourself as much as possible.

"beter Then Botox" Claiming Strivectin Sd Reviews Exposed

Saturday, August 22nd, 2009
Donna Ogwal recently asked:

Botox is becoming absolutely huge these days, fueled by television and celebrity publicity, the demand for botox treatment and the clinics offering it has took an incredibly large upwards jump. With the growing trend and botox awareness so too have come the demands for a cheaper and less invasive alternative, with many companies pushing out products that exclusively target people looking for suitable “Botox Alternatives”

A quick search into some of the largest and most respected online beauty stores and resources on the internet for Botox alternatives pulled up an interesting list of products, but one in particular, really stood out as a best selling and highly rated / reviewed alternate botox treatment product; it went by the name of Strivectin-SD and the slogan demanded attention right from the start claiming to be “Better Then Botox”

Background on Strivectin Skin Care products

Originally developed as a repair formula for stretch marks and scarring, somewhere down the line Klein Becker’s Strivectin SD turned this into an aggressively marketed Anti-aging cream, claiming a portion of their customers applied strivectin SD to their face and saw amazing results for the reduction of wrinkles and appearance benefits.

So was born the best selling and highly regarded anti-aging formula that now has sat atop the hills of best selling and top recommended skin care lists for years now. But could this original stretch mark and scarring formula really be an alternative or better then botox for the consumers in need of anti-aging and wrinkle reduction results? Well not exactly, the secret as I have found it, is in the context in which you choose to read the slogan and how you let it influence your perception.

Customer Strivectin SD reviews – Better then botox? Yes and No

I spent a large amount of time contrasting the differences and commonalities between people whom had received and contributed their feelings on the botox treatment as well as those whom have purchased and offered their strivectin reviews and feedback. What I found was that the slogan of “Better Then Botox” can be somewhat misleading, offering initially the interpretation of doing what the botox injection is famous for doing, when in reality what I uncovered is it most effective at covering the things Botox lacks, and is not as strong at doing exactly what the Botox serum is attributed for.

Hence the yes AND no reaction to the question if this is truly better then botox for the average consumer. Let me try and explain and elaborate these feelings below before I start confusing people:

Botox Strengths and Weaknesses

Botox is incredibly potent as a fast and reactive treatment for the reduction and removal of wrinkles and fine lines. However what lies after treatment is the steady progression back to the way things used to be. You see after then initial swelling effect, is the plateau and point where your results are most impressive, and from then on it is nothing more then a slower but continuous degrading process back to your original appearance.

The need arises for repeat “maintenance treatments” none of which contribute to overall change but just a temporary solution. As you can imagine the price begins to add up as you get more and more done as the natural aging process takes its toll (I have not researched whether an immunity is built up, slowing results further), and the feeling of no positive long term benefit is the most commonly reported negative comment from people that have or continue to get there quick fix of Botox’s potency.

Don’t get me wrong here, the results last a while and are extremely defining and changing during this period, but for the average consumer our budget and income surely begins to drain from such exhaustive repeat necessity. And our feelings would gradually shift as we begin to see the necessity for more and more treatments to maintain our satisfied results.

Strivectin Strengths and Weaknesses

Unfortunately, this does NOT present the immediate gratification nor amazing change that the botox injection does offer, but in the larger picture of things, can turn out to be the more worthwhile journey for those of us that don’t have the rock star, celebrity, or corporate CEO type of budget.

Strivectin SD’s strength lies in its deep and continuous repair as well as preventive factors, utilizing deeper and more reactive skin cell repair and maintenance to leave a more lasting and realistic younger appearance.

It will not make people oogle and ask ‘how in the world?’ but for people that can sacrifice an initial month or two for long term vitality and presence of age defying skin, strivectin sd will outshine a botox regimen that is no longer utilizing regular maintenance treatments (Heck if you can afford that though, more power to you!)

In conclusion

It really comes down then to what you desire, and the budget and income you have to fulfill your age-defying desires then.

All my research indicated that Strivectin SD is indeed “Better then Botox” when looked at in the longer term health and cost management areas, but when looked at from a perspective of seeing immediate and dramatic change it’s indeed inferior.

In the end it all comes down to the individual, their desires and budget. Hold realistic expectations and do your research before jumping into the hype of the markets. Don’t buy Strivectin-SD expecting to compare to that 50 year celebrity who was just reported as getting a botox injection in Beverly hills, nor should you rush off to Beverly hills to get that injection thinking it is a one time age defying answer until your 80.

Realistic expectations play a role in all purchase satisfaction, take your time and make informed decisions, hold realistic and educated expectations, and you will feel happier with every purchase you make, and then at least stress won’t intensive the rate at which you appear to age anymore!!

Review Summary

Botox™ is safe to use with other topically applied beauty products such as creams sold over the counter. Botox™, however, is available only through a qualified physician. The makers of this product have compiled a network of recommended physicians available to provide services through the manufacturer’s website. Millions of men and women have received the Botox™ treatment and report a high level of success.

Ingredients at a Glance

Botox™ uses only one ingredient, a purified protein known as Clostridium botulinum bacterium.

Ingredients in Focus

This sole ingredient in the Botox™ allows the signs of aging to disappear for up to 4 months by minimizing the movement of certain muscles in the face. According to the maker of the product users still have a full range of motion to make normal facial expressions, although sometimes use of the product is quite evident. Instead, it limits the movement of muscles responsible for making the face look wrinkled. The manufacturer claims that the product works quickly so one doesn’t have to wait months to see results. The results may appear as quickly as in a few days. The product has treated millions of patients and resulted in few complaints compared to the many success stories.

Positives

Botox™ has a high rate of success. This product is safely administered by a medical doctor.

Negatives

Botox™ has no guarantees. Botox™ avoids using or promoting products with ingredients such as Matrixyl 3000. This product is temporary regardless of how many treatments one receives over time. Botox™ may require paying a physician out of pocket, since it’s not a medical expense per se.

Final Thoughts

Botox™ works very well for many patients. It requires a simple procedure which includes injection into the facial region. Some may feel discomfort or be afraid of needles, but at this time there are no alternative means of treatment. The manufacturer doesn’t list the price of the product since it’s administered through independent physicians the price may vary, but you may expect it to be pricey. There do not appear to be any common side effects. Since the product is administered by a physician it provides an opportunity for one to inquire about any concerns prior to treatment.

Botox Cosmetic - Popular Cosmetic Procedure

Monday, August 10th, 2009
Spero Theodorou recently asked:

BOTOX cosmetic injection is an alternative option to surgery for removing and preventing wrinkles that appear on the face, due to the effects of aging or repetitive facial expressions. BOTOX cosmetic treatment has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a popular cosmetic procedure for treating wrinkles - mainly performed in people 18 to 65 years of age.

Simple, Effective, and Safe

BOTOX is Botulism Toxin Type A, a purified form of protein, which is directly injected into the line or wrinkle-causing muscle. These injections temporarily block the nerve impulses to the area. Since the muscle cannot contract, the wrinkle in that area gradually diminishes, giving your face a firm, smooth look and feel.

These injections are used in the treatment of:

•    Glabellar lines (frown lines between the eyebrows)

•    Crow’s feet near the eyes

•    Forehead creases

•    Thick bands in the neck

•    Vertical wrinkles that appear on the upper lip

The procedure itself is virtually painless and safe, with no recovery time. It takes only 10 minute to complete. A simple procedure, and a few injections – and you can see dramatic improvement in your appearance within a couple days, and the results may last from three up to six months. Repeat injections may, therefore, be necessary to yield improved results.

BOTOX Cosmetic Benefits

•    Quick and simple procedure

•    Non-surgical option

•    Immediate results

•    Minimal discomfort

•    No anesthesia required

Some sort of redness and swelling, minor bruising, nausea, and headache are likely to occur in patients shortly after injection. Remember to discuss the potential benefits and the risks and complications of using BOTOX cosmetic injection with your physician and consider whether you should seek this option.

Understanding Botox Treatments

Sunday, August 9th, 2009
Pj Germain recently asked:

Botox treatment has become nearly an everyday phrase and is often joked about in magazines, on TV and the Internet. Most people associate the word botox with looking young. Some people have the connotation that this is something reserved only for the rich and famous. Most of society probably has only heard that botox treatments provide super fast results. Others may feel that botox treatments involve taking some wonder youth injection that transforms your face to a younger you for remainder of your life. As a matter of fact, the words “botox treatment” can be considered as synonyms for “younger face.”

So, what is the hidden secret involved in botox injections and how does this wonder chemical really do its work? Are there many non-publicized risks and issues as a result of? Well, first, we must try to understand the answers to all such questions regarding botox treatments.

How do Botox treatments work?

Before proceeding, allow me to pose a query. Why do you have wrinkles on your face? Understanding this will give you a firm (no pun intended) foundation before you can begin to understand the effects of botox.

There are about 52 muscles in your face, not including any individual distinctions regarding things like posterior and inferior, longitudinal and transversus, and major and minor. All of these muscles tend to overlap making it difficult to actually identify each one individually.

These muscles continuously expand and contract, over and over during the course of any given day. This process is repeated day in and day out throughout your entire life. As a result, there eventually comes a point in time that wrinkles will begin to form on the surface of your skin. If you could avoid this continuous muscle action, no wrinkles would ever form. But, that would entail not smile or laughing ever again! Good luck, right?

How to achieve this result?

Well, as a second point of background information, you need to understand that we all have two types of muscles in our bodies - voluntary and involuntary. The voluntary type, of course, we move whenever we desire. The other group of muscles, as you guess, we have no control over and move or contract when they feel the need. Botox treatment or Botox injections involve forcing or re-training these facial muscles NOT to contract. How is this done?

You have certain chemical compounds within your body that carry electrical impulses to the brain and order the facial muscle to contract. If these neuron message are prevented from reaching the brain then facial muscles won’t contract. This sounds fairly simple, right? You just put up a stop sign within your neural pathways and tell the impulses to halt. Actually, botox is that stop sign. Botox is the chemical that was developed to prevent neuron messages from reaching the brain. Naturally, the wrinkle formation stops and eventually the existing wrinkles may even disappear.

Naturally, this cessation of electrical impulses is not something we would like floating through our entire bodies. All muscular functions would stop and you would be immobilized. This is the very reason botox treatments are only available via injection form. This is also the very reason botox must be taken under strict medical supervision. Botox treatments are definitely beneficial for those seeking a more youthful appearance. And now I hope you a bit more equipped to make a decision on whether or not Botox is for you.
